Description Technical Specs

The Companion Heavy Duty MG is Mora's most robust Companion knife  - ideal for serious outdoors people.

The Heavy Duty is a beefed-up version of the standard Mora Companion Knife MG.

The Heavy Duty Companion Knife has a blade of 3.2 mm thick carbon steel, up-rated from the 2.0mm-thick blade of the 'standard' Mora Companion. Also, the knife has an extra-large ergonomic handle with a soft high-friction grip.

Mora say they have designed the Heavy Duty to be a "powerful tool for bushcrafters, hunters and outdoor people".

In particular, the technique of batoning requires great strength from a knife blade and the knife has been designed with this in mind.

The bevel is the classic flat, "scandi" grind as per the standard Companion Knife but the width has been increased - making it easier to sharpen than the standard Companion.

Also, the edge angle has been increased to 27° for maximum sharpness resistance (Mora's default is otherwise 23°).

Members of the Frontier Bushcraft Instructional Team have been particularly impressed with the Heavy Duty. It really is a very solidly-made tool. The steel is high quality, easily-sharpened and capable of a razor-sharp edge. The knife is great for carving green wood, splitting firewood and making feathersticks. It also lends itself well to butchery and fileting. Having a wider bevel means it is also easy to create a big spark from a Swedish Firesteel using the back of the knife. Astounding value.

The Companion Heavy Duty MG comes with a highly durable military-green plastic sheath with a belt clip.

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase this item.
